The School of Health Sciences is an interprofessional school which sits within the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and provides medical, health and care education and research at Bangor University. The School works in partnership with health, social and educational care providers through well‑established links to enable a clinical and academic experience to be provided for children’s nursing students. The School offers a career‑spanning portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and short courses for health and care and allied professionals.
The School comprises over 120 staff, delivering to students from across allied health programmes. We hold an Athena Swan Bronze award in recognition of our commitment to and progress towards gender equality within the University’s policies, practices, and culture.

The School offers a supportive culture for our less experienced lecturers to develop their potential and you will be provided with an academic mentor.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio, including in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- To teach children’s nursing at undergraduate and postgraduate) levels, including supervision of students as they complete formative and summative assessments.
- To develop ways of teaching to include blended and in person approaches, teaching materials and assessment.
- To support module and course design, assessments and develop skills for module co‑ordination and module leadership module coordinator.
- To provide the highest quality pastoral and academic support to children’s nursing undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- To undertake administrative duties as designated by the Head of School to engage in School citizenship and personal development.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials responding effectively to a variety of student backgrounds, learning styles and class sizes.
- Motivate students to proactive engagement in learning and provide meaningful and constructive feedback on the quality of their work.
- Keep abreast of new professional, educational and related social, economic and technological developments in children’s nursing.
