Are you a detail-driven Financial Controller looking for a flexible 34-hour workweek and the chance to shape financial strategy? Role and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple UK group companies
- Overseeing monthly payroll for 60+ employees, including pension administration
- Managing an Accounts Administrator, overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities and supplier payment runs
- Delivering regular financial reporting, including KPIs, cash flow management, and business analytics
- Conducting bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad hoc financial reporting
- Submitting quarterly VAT returns and assisting in annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Implementing effective cash flow management and reporting
- Establishing and maintaining accounting controls, systems, and processes
- Assisting with stock control, customs queries, and process improvements
- Examining financial reports to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Leading annual audit preparations and producing statutory accounts in collaboration with external accountants
- Preparing R&D tax claims
- Acting as the main point of contact for banking and financial compliance matters
- Collaborating with the management team to drive efficiencies and financial improvements
Required Skills and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial operations, such as Finance Officer, Financial Controller, or similar roles
- Strong understanding of core accounting processes, data analysis, and forecasting methods
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience with in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Experienced user of Sage or similar
