A Quality Manager is required to take full ownership of the Quality Management System within a manufacturing and electrical engineering environment. The role operates fully onsite and acts as the senior authority for quality compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across the business.
The Quality Manager will manage all day‑to‑day quality activities while also driving strategic development, ensuring products, processes and systems meet both customer and regulatory requirements. This role suits a Quality Manager with experience in engineering, electrical equipment, rail, or similar regulated industries.
The Quality Manager is the primary contact for all quality matters, leading audits, inspections, calibration and corrective actions. Working closely with senior leadership, the Quality Manager also supports business growth through quality improvement projects and accreditation development.
Key Responsibilities- Full ownership of the Quality Management System and quality compliance activities
- Lead finished product inspection and testing to ensure customer and regulatory compliance
- Plan and manage internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits and ISO 9001 audits
- Lead quality meetings, PPAP activity, calibration systems and corrective actions (NCRs / 8D)
- Drive quality improvement projects and process optimisation
- Support progression towards ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditation
- Compile and report departmental KPIs, targets and strategic metrics
- Act as a key quality advisor to the senior management team
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager within engineering, manufacturing or electrical environments
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 (essential)
- Exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (desirable)
- Background in regulated industries such as rail, electrical equipment or heavy engineering advantageous
- Experience with audits, calibration systems and continuous improvement methodologies
- Salary up to £55,000 per annum
- Permanent, full‑time role
