This is a part‑time (80% FTE) temporary maternity cover post in the Department of Psychology. The post holder will oversee Welsh language activity on the CAL:

ON project, primarily focusing on work packages 2 and 3. A PhD standard education or equivalent with experience on similar projects is required. Good organisational skills and adherence to strict deadlines are essential. Commencement September 2026, available until 31/03/2027. The post requires fluent Welsh communication and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. The role is located on campus at Bangor with the option to work remotely within the UK under the Dynamic Working framework.

• Develop and devise Welsh‑medium materials and programmes for the CAL:
  
  ON project, specifically for the NELI programme and the Read to Learn programme.
• Draft progress updates for project leads or funders on work areas.
• Coordinate with other team members, particularly Welsh‑medium staff, to plan and progress Welsh materials and trials.
• Draft academic reports and outputs such as ethics proposals, academic papers, and government reports.
• Collect and analyze data where required.
• Deliver research outcomes.
• Administer the research project as needed.
• Other duties: advise and collaborate with Masters and PhD students, contribute to the undergraduate programme, participate in College activities, establish collaborative groups (internal or external), secure external funding, and manage projects.

• Participate in performance review and developmental activities.

• Qualifications/Training
  • Essential:
    PhD Psychology, or close to completion, or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Desirable:
    Proven track record of publications in quality journals, proven track record of conference presentations.
• Experience/Knowledge
  • Essential:
    Strong research methods and analysis skills (quantitative and/or qualitative).
  • Desirable:
    None specified.
• Skills/Abilities
  • Essential:
    Excellent organisational skills, good verbal and written skills, analytical skills, ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Desirable:
    Proven project management skills, solid computer skills (MS Office, Powerpoint, Excel), teamwork, interpersonal skills, any other relevant skills for duties and responsibilities.

  • Essential:
    Ability to speak and write Welsh fluently in a wide variety of situations.
  • Desirable:
    Driving licence.
