Trainee Roastery Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: CARGO COFFEEWe are looking for a Trainee Roastery Assistant to join our coffee roastery team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn the craft of coffee roasting and production in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, team spirit, eagerness to learn, and a love for specialty coffee. This is a development role with real progression opportunities into roasting.

Training will include roast profiling, machine safety, production efficiency, food hygiene standards, and coffee grading basics.

• Support daily roasting operations.
• Assist with green bean handling.
• Assist with batch production.
• Weigh and pack coffee.
• Carry out quality checks.
• Fulfil orders for wholesale and retail customers.

• Basic numeracy and writing skills.
• Coffee knowledge.
