Job Summary:

The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned, following dealer and factory standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.

Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts, inform team leader if the vehicle is awaiting parts, and pursue special orders if necessary.

Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by the customer.

Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.

Notify service consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not required, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

Document work performed on each vehicle using the concern, cause, and correction format.

Road-test vehicles to verify repairs.

Ensure customer vehicles are returned clean and in the same condition as prior to service.

Maintain a neat shop area and account for all dealership-owned tools.

Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.

Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the company's vision, mission, and values in all interactions.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Follow safety procedures to minimize exposure to fumes, chemicals, and dirt.

Qualifications:

Meet the company's employment requirements.
Ability to read and understand written instructions.
Basic mechanical skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
Professional appearance.
Manual dexterity and good judgment to operate tools safely.
Three years of experience as a service technician (preferred).
Customer service skills.
ASE certification (preferred).

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Exposure to weather conditions. Ability to operate a vehicle.
Prolonged standing, stooping, and bending.
Ability to exert force as needed to move objects.
Work may involve significant walking, standing, or sitting, with physical exertion.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical aptitude demonstrated by ASE certification or pre-employment test success.
Technical or trade school degree preferred.
