Adjunct - Chemistry (On Campus Applicant Pool)
The College of Science & Humanities is building a pool of qualified adjunct instructors for future part-time teaching opportunities in Chemistry. Appointments are semester-by-semester and depend on program needs. All courses are delivered face-to-face on the Bangor campus.
Potential Course Assignments- General Chemistry I & II (lecture and/or lab)
- Upper-level or specialty courses aligned with departmental needs
- Teach assigned chemistry courses during the fall and/or spring semester.
- Collaborate with full‑time faculty to maintain common syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
- Submit timely grades and assessment data in accordance with University policies. ul>
- Education:
Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline (Ph.D. preferred). - Previous college-level teaching (lecture or lab) preferred.
- Commitment to evidence-based teaching practices and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Undergraduate Course – Masters Prepared: $933.33 maximum per credit hour
- Undergraduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour
- Graduate Course – Masters Level Prepared: $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour
- Graduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,100.00 maximum per credit hour
- Lab Sections Undergraduate – Masters Prepared: $1,150.00 per credit hour
- Lab Sections Undergraduate – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,250.00 per credit hour
- Rate is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; candidates will remain in the adjunct pool for one academic year.
