Maine’s Nonprofit Hub. This role blends strategic program leadership with hands‑on community work, including developing efficient systems, cultivating strong relationships, coordinating meaningful volunteer opportunities, and ensuring impactful distribution and data tracking.
The Manager of Community Impact plays a key role in advancing Heart of Maine United Way’s (HoMEUW) mission by overseeing key community programs, strengthening volunteer engagement, ensuring impactful data collection, and supporting the development of The COMMUNITY:
Maine’s Nonprofit Hub. This position manages high‑impact initiatives including Bundle, Neighbors United, and the newly created Volunteer Center, while building strong relationships with nonprofit partners, volunteers, community organizations, and corporate groups.
The Manager of Community Impact exercises independent judgment and decision‑making in planning, prioritizing, and administering community impact programs and volunteer engagement strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker who is comfortable managing complex projects, developing efficient systems, and executing hands‑on work like transportation and distribution. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized, relationship‑driven, and comfortable balancing direct program operations with broader capacity building efforts.
PrimaryResponsibilities Bundle Program Management
- Lead all aspects of Bundle operations, including volunteer coordination, inventory management, and partner relationships.
- Develop and maintain efficient systems for inventory tracking, ordering, and distribution across four rural counties.
- Coordinate and ensure transport of Bundle boxes across four rural counties, including completing deliveries when necessary. Ensuring timely and reliable delivery to partner sites.
- Oversee data collection, reporting, and evaluation of Bundle outcomes; prepare summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with the Director of Community Impact to launch and grow the Volunteer Center at The COMMUNITY:
Maine’s Nonprofit Hub. - Create and implement systems that connect individual, skilled, and corporate volunteers with high‑quality nonprofit opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with nonprofit partners to understand volunteer needs and capacity.
- Develop communication and outreach strategies to promote volunteerism across the region.
- Support businesses utilizing Volunteer Time Off (VTO), including designing group volunteer days and team‑building service activities.
- Manage all aspects of Neighbors United drives (school supplies, baby products, and food), including collection logistics, volunteer coordination, and distribution.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensure alignment of supplies with community needs, and strengthen partnerships with organizations across our region.
- Collect and organize accurate, impact‑focused data to share with the community.
- Support daily operations of The COMMUNITY:
Maine’s Nonprofit Hub, including space readiness, event support, and visitor engagement. - Assist in coordinating educational opportunities, volunteer projects, and community events held at the hub.
- Assist in tracking Hub utilization data (meeting rooms, drop‑in usage, events, volunteer activities) and prepare regular reports.
