Certified Nursing Assistant – Med Tech – CNA‑M

Hourly Rate: $23.00 – $28.00

Hiring Bonus: $2,000

CNA-Med Tech

Job Summary:

As part of a strong clinical team, providing amazing care and service to our residents is the primary responsibility of our Med Tech. The purpose of this position is to administer medications to each resident, ensuring they receive the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being through comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.

The CNA‑Med Tech works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, reports observations to the licensed nurse on duty, maintains clean and orderly equipment for medication administration, and reports to the Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Administers routinely scheduled oral and topical medications according to physician orders via scanning per policy to assigned residents.
  • Monitors and records vital signs according to physician orders and standards of practice.
  • Reports any unusual or unwanted medication side effects to the Charge Nurse.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of all medications and treatments based on policy and best practices.
  • Assists the Charge Nurse with returning, re‑ordering, and destroying medications per facility policy.
  • Notifies the Charge Nurse of any out‑of‑date medication and any projected shortage of medications or supplies.
  • Makes suggestions to resolve problems or streamline the medication system to the Charge Nurse.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Must be able to interact with our computer‑based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Must be a graduate of a state‑approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and be on the Maine CNA Registry.
  • Successful completion of a state‑approved Nursing Assistant‑Medication training program.
