Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Wound​/Ostomy Care

American Traveler is hiring a RN - Wound Care for a 13-week days assignment requiring wound care training and a Maine or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active Maine RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification current or obtainable within 30 days of hire
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• CWOCN or CWS certification preferred
• 1-3 years of wound care experience preferred
• Must be trained in wound care and ready to see patients
• Strong communication and multi-tasking skills required
• Ability to work well as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting providing inpatient and outpatient wound and ostomy care
• Days shift schedule
• 13-week assignment length
• Occasional staffing in the wound center as needed
• Manages outpatient ostomy patient scheduling and clinic visits
• Evaluates and assesses wounds and ostomies, performing dressing changes, debridement, and ostomy procedures
• Serves as a resource and educator for inpatient nursing staff on wound, skin, ostomy, and continence care
• Educates patients and families on wound, ostomy, skin, and incontinence management
• Manages incontinence issues related to urinary and bowel dysfunction
• Collaborates with inpatient and outpatient teams to ensure continuity of patient care
• Utilizes outside resources such as VNA, DME, and diabetes centers for patient care coordination
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient care and education for inpatients and outpatients
• Participates in departmental and hospital-wide committees and performance improvement activities
• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
