Advocate

Status: Part Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

This is an hourly, part-time position providing mentorship and advocacy for youth and families throughout Bangor.

• The ideal candidate will be dependable, committed, and serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
• The primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
• All service plans will be based on a strength‑based approach using the wrap‑around model.

Hourly Rate: $20 per hour. Flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage ($0.50/mile), and activity reimbursement.

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Experience working with at‑risk youth.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer skills is highly preferred; knowledge of electronic health record systems (EHR) is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus.
• Bi‑Lingual / Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Reliable insured transportation, valid driver's license and current auto insurance coverage is required.
