RN-EMERGENCY DEPT.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Emergency Department Staff Nurse coordinates and provides nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
The Emergency Department performs emergency medical service to individuals from all age groups as needed. Therefore, the ER Staff Nurse must be competent to provide care to patients in the following age groups: infant, toddler, and school-age, teenage, adult, senior, and geriatric. The RN must be able to access developmental needs across the life span and be able to adjust care accordingly to meet physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
REQUIREMENTSMust have a current California RN License. Graduate from a school of nursing with either ADN or BSN degree. Minimum of 1 year of recent experience (within 18 months) in an acute care hospital's emergency department. Must have current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS Stroke Scale Certifications upon hire. Must be computer-literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel). Familiarity with Allscripts is helpful, and experience in EMR is preferred.

Estimated pay is based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).
