Overview

We are looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our IT support team based onsite in Banstead. The role focuses on providing hands‑on technical support across Microsoft technologies, Office 365, and end‑user devices, including the setup and maintenance of laptops and desktop computers.

You will act as a key escalation point from 1st line, resolving more complex technical issues while delivering a high level of customer service to internal users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd line technical support to end users, both face-to-face and remotely
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to:
  • Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft Office &
    Office 365 (Exchange, Teams, One Drive, SharePoint)
  • Set up, configure, and deploy laptops and desktop computers
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and devices via Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Support hardware, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices
  • Escalate unresolved issues to 3rd line or external suppliers when required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates within the ITSM system
  • Assist with system upgrades, rollouts, and general IT maintenance tasks
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line Support or similar IT support role
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Office 365 administration
  • Experience setting up and configuring laptops, desktops, and user profiles
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in an onsite-only environment
  • Experience with Intune / MDM
  • Knowledge of Microsoft licensing
  • Basic Power Shell scripting
  • ITIL awareness or certification
