Eurofins Environment Testing operates out of more than 50 laboratories and over 40 service centers across the US. The network provides full-service Environment Testing capabilities in all US states, supporting public and private sectors, DoD, DOE and Municipalities.
Job DescriptionThe Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for processing and placing supply orders in Coupa, and stocking Kanban shelving within each department within the Environment Testing Laboratory. This involves interaction with laboratories and vendors. Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette are essential, and strong problem-solving skills are needed to audit, track, and confirm issues relating to requisitions and purchase orders.
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is a Full-Time, onsite position located at our Barberton, OH site. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
The position compensation range for this role is $22.00 - $27.00/hr based on experience.
Responsibilities- Operates a multi-line telephone system. Screens and routes incoming calls to the appropriate department or employee to ensure clients and vendors are responded to professionally and promptly.
- Greets clients, vendors, and visitors at the front desk and follows sign-in procedures to maintain a professional environment.
- Operates standard office equipment to ensure communications are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Schedules vendors for service of office equipment; schedules appointments, meetings, and special events for laboratory staff.
- Maintains inventories and orders office supplies to ensure adequate stock for duties.
- Generates purchase orders for laboratory consumables in Coupa; receives orders electronically in Coupa and restocks inventory in the warehouse.
- Works with Technical and Operation Leaders within the Laboratory to source alternative supplies when primary vendors cannot fulfill.
- Identifies cost-saving opportunities and leads internal Kanban Inventory System within the Laboratory.
- Audits account codes to ensure proper billings; communicates with laboratories on issues relating to orders (shortages, shipment delays, discontinued products).
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments; participates in continuous improvement training and shares knowledge with others.
- Maintains stocking areas clean and organized; assists in other areas as needed.
Basic
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 year of inventory and/or purchasing experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to stand and walk frequently (approximately 3+ hours/day)
- Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and 25+ lbs. occasionally
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, and speak)
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in purchasing, negotiating pricing with vendors, and recognizing cost-saving opportunities
- Experience with Coupa or other purchasing system
- Experience with paperless inventory systems;
Coupa a plus - 2+ years of inventory and purchasing experience
- Previous warehouse and/or laboratory experience
- 1+ years of Kanban, LEAN/5S, or similar workflow management systems with continuous improvement programs
- Experience adhering to safety protocols
- Proven analytical math skills
