Job Description
This temporary Human Resources Administrative Assistant role provides maternity leave coverage for a key member of the HR team. You will support daily HR operations, assist employees with administrative needs, and help manage a variety of clerical and HR-related tasks. You will receive training from current team members to ensure a smooth transition and will play an important role in maintaining organized HR processes and a positive employee experience.
- Support daily Human Resources operations by providing administrative and clerical assistance to the HR team.
- Assemble, package, and send new hire welcome bags using UPS, ensuring accurate addresses and timely delivery.
- Answer and direct incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner, especially when the primary receptionist is out of the office.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including coordinating shipments via Fed Ex and other carriers as needed.
- Scan, organize, and maintain employee files, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and stored appropriately.
- Assist with file management and document control for HR records and other confidential information.
- Support onboarding processes by preparing and organizing documentation, materials, and files for new employees.
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry, document preparation, and use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Collaborate with HR team members to ensure smooth office processes and consistent communication.
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in all tasks to support efficient HR operations.
- Experience providing administrative or clerical support within a Human Resources function.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience answering and directing phone calls in a professional office setting.
- Experience handling mail and coordinating shipments using UPS and Fed Ex.
- Experience scanning and managing employee files and other confidential documents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a busy office environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with file management, employee records, or onboarding processes.
- Prior experience supporting Human Resources functions in a corporate or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Comfort working with administrative systems and office equipment.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when interacting with employees and visitors.
This role operates in a professional office setting within a Human Resources department. You will work closely with HR team members and other office staff in a collaborative environment. The position involves regular use of computers, Microsoft Office applications, scanners, phones, and office equipment, as well as coordination with shipping carriers such as UPS and Fed Ex. The work focuses on administrative support, document handling, and employee-facing tasks, requiring consistent attention to detail and confidentiality.
The schedule follows standard office hours, providing a structured and organized workday.
This is a Contract position based out of Barberton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
