General Outpatient Psychology – Akron & Surrounding Area
The Summa Health System Behavioral Health Institute is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and driven psychologists to join our well-established team of 60+ clinicians. We are particularly interested in those who have an experience and desire to practice in specialty clinical and/or clinical health psychology roles.
The selected candidate will become a member of the Summa Health Medical Group, a multi-specialty group practice of 400+ physicians employed by the Summa Health System. Summa is also home to Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion, a new, state of the art, facility that is dedicated to delivering a full continuum of behavioral health care. Summa’s vast healthcare system offers psychologists a variety of opportunities to practice in many different medical and behavioral health settings.
General Outpatient – Akron & Surrounding Areas (including Medina, Barberton and Rootstown)
Candidate Requirements- Ph.
D. or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology - Completed an APA-accredited clinical internship
- Licensed or license eligible in Ohio
- Employed position offering competitive compensation and comprehensive benefit package
- Client referrals will come primarily from Summa Health Medical Group’s team of psychiatrists, medical providers, fellow psychologists, counselors, social workers and behavioral health therapists.
- Duties will include providing diagnostic evaluations, individual psychotherapy, and group interventions for a demographically diverse range of clients in outpatient, specialty medicine, and other hospital clinics/settings. Services will be delivered in person and virtually.
- The selected candidate will also have opportunities to provide psychological testing, participate in the supervision and training of graduate-level psychology students, and assist with program development and evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively teach medical students, residents, nursing staff and medical staff regarding aspects of clinical psychology.
- Ability to conduct research under established protocols and effectively demonstrate findings.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively develop new programs.
