Instrument Processing Tech II - Union
Second Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday;
Weekday, Weekend and Holiday Call.
Full Time 40-Hour Week.
Summa Health System Barberton Campus.
SummaryProvides clean and sterile supplies and equipment through decontamination, preparation, sterilization, storage and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process under the direction of a Unit Manager/Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications- Formal
Education Required:
High school level coursework in English grammar and basic mathematics. - Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions.
- Current HSPA or CRCST Certification or minimum 1 year experience with knowledge of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization techniques and be able to obtain certification within six months of hire date.
- Ability to work well within a team environment: accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; supporting team goals by collaborating with patient care team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs.
- Ability to be self-directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling, and cleaning equipment and materials.
- Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology for surgical applications.
- Operate all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely.
- Knowledge of applicable sanitary, infection control and safety standards.
- Medium:
Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. - Physical working environment may include, but not limited to, any of the following hazards: high pressure steam, chemical, electrical, mechanical, bio-waste.
- Environmental conditions may include, but not be limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors, blood & body fluids, multi-stimuli, etc.

Compensation$18.07/hr - $25.40/hr the salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range.
