CMS Laser Tracker Technician - BWX Technologies, Inc - Barberton, OH

Requirements:

• CMS (Coordinate Measurement System) Laser Tracker Technicians are responsible for performing 3-Dimensional inspection of large pressure vessels and steam generating equipment using portable coordinate measuring systems such as Laser Trackers and Articulated Measuring Arms.
• Upon completing a training and qualification program, candidates will be responsible for planning and developing inspection methods and routines, conducting data collection surveys, and analyzing and reporting results to determine acceptability to customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum A.S. degree in a technical field, or at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical drawings and blueprint reading, along with basic knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 GD&T standard.
• Strong 3-D visualization skills and some experience with 3-D CAD/Modeling are required.
• Previous experience with Laser Trackers and Articulated CMMs is preferred but not necessary, as training will be provided.
• Good math, geometry, and analysis skills; proficiency with MS Excel.
• Willingness to perform hands-on work in a manufacturing environment, including working inside confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance and pass a qualification exam after inspector training.
• Willingness to work any shift for extended periods and independently with minimal supervision.
