Supervisor - Material Services

Supervisor – Material Services – BWXT Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT). Headquartered in Lynchburg, VA, BWXT provides safe and effective nuclear solutions for national security, clean energy, environmental remediation, nuclear medicine, and space exploration. This role is located in Barberton, OH.

The Material Services Supervisor directs and coordinates assigned activities for the Material Services group and ensures that the output and performance conform to quality and quantity standards. The position requires working both 1st and 2nd shifts with specific hours determined by operational needs.

• Plans, directs and coordinates assigned activities.
• Exercises jurisdiction over skilled occupations, including materials cribs, warehouse, shipping/receiving and transportation personnel.
• Inputs data via computer systems for maintenance work orders, employee time records and production/scheduling systems.
• Recommends improvements in shop operating procedures, policies and processes and may propose acquisition of additional equipment when necessary.
• Supports shifts as required and administers bargaining unit agreements.
• Administrates training of subordinates and recommends workforce changes.
• Oversees all warehouse and material crib functions and ensures shop delivery requests are completed.
• Works with planners, schedulers and shop foreman to minimize delays.
• Adheres to procedures for storage of certain materials.
• Ensures safe transport of tooling and components by rail, tractor, trailers and fork trucks.
• Schedules services with outside vendors for maintenance of material service equipment and for rail line inspections.
• Coordinates with Inventory Control Technicians and Analysts to ensure all documentation is completed prior to release.

• Associate’s degree in a related field preferred (applicable experience may substitute).
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
• U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
• Willingness to work both 1st and 2nd shifts.

• Prior experience with manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or shop‑floor supervision preferred.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience developing, delivering and maintaining training activities.
• Excellent organization and program management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel desired.
