Position Summary
Job Title: Full-Time Maintenance Technician (Night Crew, 7PM-7AM) – Cast House
Location: 842 Norton Rd, Barberton, OH, (On-site)
Schedule: Night crew (7 PM – 7 AM), 12-hour shifts, full-time. Occasional weekend overtime required.
Starting Rate: $35.00/hour + experience-based differential and $1.00/hour shift differential.
Howmet Aerospace is seeking an energetic and dependable maintenance technician to support our fast-paced, safety-critical aluminum remelt foundry operating nonstop 24/7/365. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical/electrical equipment, and promoting BCC Safety Regulations.
What is a Cast House? The cast house houses an aluminum smelter and collects and remelts aluminum for shipping.
Responsibilities- Repairs, maintains and troubleshoots continuous process machinery performing mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment such as motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, water systems, production machines and equipment in accordance with diagrams, specifications and operator's manuals.
- Dismantles devices and machines to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand tools, power tools, and cranes.
- Performs maintenance work such as replacing pumps, motors, chains, spokes, cables, replacing drives, troubleshooting PLC logic, fabricating and mounting guards, troubleshooting and adjusting hydraulics.
- Maintains personal safety equipment and promotes BCC Safety Regulations.
- Completes required preventive maintenance work orders and associated paperwork in the CMMS System.

- Starting at $35.00-$42.35/hr with an additional $1.00/hr shift differential for night crew.
- High School Diploma or GED (from an accredited institution).
- Minimum of two years' experience performing mechanical or electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience reading electrical and hydraulic drawings/schematics.
- Knowledge and experience working with combustion systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and competencies relating to employee, equipment and product safety.
- Experience with equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairing of machines, machine parts and maintenance practices.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Five years experience performing mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment or foundry.
- Full time. Occasional weekend overtime required.
- Lifting: Moderately heavy – occasional lift up to 40 pounds.
