OverviewThe City of Barberton is seeking proposals from qualified firms, nonprofits, and landscape contractors to design, develop, and implement a Community Sunflower and Pollinator Park at Harter Park. The proposed project presents a unique opportunity to enhance a thriving wildlife habitat, while providing educational and recreational opportunities for Barberton residents and visitors.
- Enhancing Harter Park’s natural beauty with sunflower fields, walking paths, and seating areas.
- Establish 4 acres of a diverse pollinator habitats with native wildflowers, sunflowers, and pollinator-friendly plants and a walking path throughout the park.
- Respondents must demonstrate proven experience in successful pollinator habitat creation, landscaping, and community projects.
- Capacity to design, construct, and manage the proposed project.
- A clear understanding and willingness of community engagement and educational programming.
- Project Description – Detailed narrative and site layout of the proposed uses, design elements, and anticipated community impact.
- Design, Implementation, and Maintenance Plans – Overview of the proposed project and the strategic processes needed to create a successful Sunflower & Pollinator Park.
- Budget Proposal – A proposed budget that includes itemized costs, funding needs, and the proposed allocation of hours and costs associated with each task.
- Timeline – Strategic project timeline identifying each phase length from planning through completion.
- Relevant Experience – Examples of similar projects completed in Northeast Ohio.
- Community Engagement Strategy – Approach to engaging key partners and addressing community needs.
- Project Team – Background and qualifications of the key team members and their roles in this project.
