Note:
This role is not remote and requires in-person work. You will start a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transition to full-time from January to April, including evenings and weekends as needed.
You will lead three H&R Block tax offices, providing leadership to customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
A front-line manager will be responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for the three offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
Responsibilities- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
- Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management
- Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions
- Conduct timely performance reviews and coordinate with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns
- Build an engaging, multi-office team environment through training and coaching
- Travel between offices as required
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
- People management experience with the ability to grow and develop associates
- Aptitude for executing growth plans and fostering a growth culture
- Strong decision-making and judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with relevant experience
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course
- Multi-unit people management experience in retail, hospitality, banking, or related industries
- Ability to develop office staffing and operations across multiple offices with support from leadership
- Ability to recruit and interview candidates for tax office roles
