Golf Course Superintendent

Oversee golf course turf management at the My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Kentucky. This full‑time executive role offers a competitive hourly rate, benefits, and opportunities to lead a maintenance team on a beautiful course.

• Staff training and supervision

• Experience operating all golf‑course equipment and performing maintenance tasks
• Budget creation and management with an agronomic plan
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Kentucky pesticide applicator license
• Golf‑course construction or renovation experience (plus)
• Attention to detail and time management
• Leadership, teamwork, and decision‑making skills

Education: Associate degree flagship field in plant science, turf management, or a related discipline from a college or university.

Experience: One year as a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent.

Substitution Options: None for experience.

Certificate/Substitution: Three years as a superintendent or assistant superintendent plus a Certificate of Turfgrass Management can substitute for the required education.

Requires and must maintain a valid driver’s license; must obtain a Kentucky pesticide applicator license within six months of employment. The N‑18 pesticide license is required, obtainable by passing the Kentucky Department of Agriculture test. All움 required licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout employment.

Work is performed outdoors in varied climatic conditions and involves exposure to insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.

Initial and promotional probationary period of nine months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
