• Grocery Clerk helps customers discover items and answers inquiries.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered; stock and label department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions with product suggestions.
• Create an inviting environment for customers by answering questions about products store-wide.
• Support safety programs and comply with safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and notify appropriate manager of needed repairs; notify management of accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflict professionally.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues; protect customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
