About

The Role

The CLI/Terraform team is at the forefront of how customers manage and automate Confluent, building the tools and frameworks that turn Confluent’s APIs into dependable developer experiences. With roughly 70% of customers using the CLI or Terraform and the Terraform Provider surpassing 474 million downloads, the team is critical to making Confluent easier to operate, automate, and integrate at scale.

What You Will Do
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain features in the Confluent CLI and Terraform Provider, primarily using Go
  • Turn Confluent APIs into intuitive CLI commands and Terraform resources that customers can use in production automation
  • Work with service teams across Confluent to deliver new integrations and ensure a consistent experience across both products
  • Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and follow established engineering and release practices
  • Investigate customer-reported issues and contribute fixes that improve reliability, performance, and usability
  • Contribute to shared frameworks, validation systems, and tooling that help service teams build and maintain their own integrations
  • Participate in operational support and learn to diagnose issues across APIs, cloud services, and customer environments
Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
  • BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 1–4 years of relevant software-development experience
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, software design, and API development
