You’ll be trained and mentored by Paul Postema, an Olympic Performance Coach, experience coaching firsthand as a client, and gradually build your own skills through practice, reflection, and real client sessions.
By the end of the traineeship, you’ll have developed into a confident professional coach with hands‑on experience guiding real people toward real change.
Step 1: You’ll be onboarded to Williams & Company as an “Associate, Building Capabilities & Coaching,” working under your supervisor, Paul Postema. Paul is an Olympic Performance Coach with over 18 years of experience coaching elite athletes, executives, and high-performers, and holds his coaching qualifications from the University of Cambridge.
Step 2: You’ll take part in a coaching session yourself, with Paul as coach and you as client, so you can experience firsthand the value of coaching.
Step 3:
Foundations of Coaching (Unit
1) Here starts your learning journey. This unit focuses on building the core toolkit every coach needs, including the following topics:
Coaching vs mentoring, training, consulting, counseling.
Create awareness with the Johari Window.
Structure sessions with the T-GROW model.
Track progress with a coaching log.
Step 4: You’ll begin practice sessions, starting with your supervisor as your practice client. This will not only build your experience but also give you valuable feedback to sharpen the quality of your sessions. You’ll write reflections on your coaching sessions, capturing what you’ve experienced and learned along the way.
Step 5:
Coaching Approaches & Self-Awareness (Unit
2) You continue your learning journey by learning how change happens, both for clients and you. This unit includes the following topics:
Psychological Coaching Approaches:
Positive Psychology & Cognitive Behavioural Coaching.
Bring mindfulness into sessions.
Build your own reflective practice.
Explore how values drive behaviour.
Apply psychometric tools: MBTI, VIA, PERMA, GRIT.
Step 6: You’ll begin coaching external volunteers — people who know you’re a trainee and want to be coached by you — to further build your experience. You continue writing reflection, capturing what you’ve experienced and learned.
Step 7:
Applying Coaching in Practice (Unit
3) The last part of your learning journey. This unit includes the following topics:
Manage the full coaching process, start to finish.
Adapt across contexts: executive, performance, life coaching.
The importance of coaching presence.
Practice with credibility and clarity.
Coaching ethics.
Step 8: You’ll start coaching real clients, beginning with 30‑minute sessions. As you gain more experience, you’ll move on to 45‑minute sessions.
Finish: After six month, you finish the Traineeship with the Williams & Company Coaching Certificate. You will get promoted to Senior Associate, Capability Building & Coaching and start your paid position.
Who we’re looking for:
Dutch C2 or Native.
English level C1 or higher.
Current Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Psychology.
Strong interest in people and coaching.
You are available for 5-10 hours per week, for six months.

This is an unpaid traineeship. After finishing the traineeship, you will be offered a paid position.
