Are you a passionate and dedicated English Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Barking? Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring English Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in the Barking area.
The RoleAs a Secondary English Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential Key Stage 5 teaching.
- Teach a broad curriculum covering English Language, Literature, reading and writing.
- Inspire students to develop a genuine passion for English and wider reading.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity and effective communication.
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive and forward-thinking English department.
- A degree in English, English Literature or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for teaching English and inspiring young people.
- The ability to create engaging, challenging and accessible lessons.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing and development of students.
- ECTs are encouraged to apply, as the school offers a supportive environment for teachers at all stages of their careers.
