Care Centre, an 82-bed facility in Dagenham which is dedicated to providing high quality care for a huge range of disabilities, disorders and behaviours. Providing 24 hour residential care, seven days a week, the team offer elderly care, end of life care and younger care.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. Our qualified nursing team are available 24 hours a day to provide medical and other forms of specialised support. Respecting older people and recognising each resident as a unique individual, our nurses provide not just high-quality nursing skills, but truly person-centred care.
About the Role Responsibilities- Assess, plan and deliver nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and act as the patient’s named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate progress.
- Monitor and review nursing care plans.
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
- Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families / carers.
- Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
- Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift coordination framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring a safe environment as far as reasonably practicable.
- Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
- Help to promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient, relatives and carers.
- Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least monthly.
- Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
- Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
- Plan, implement, and supervise the provision of quality care.
- Maintain the required medical documentation.
- Uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice.
- Report any ill health among residents and request professional visits when necessary.
- Familiarise yourself with, and strictly adhere to, company policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidelines.
- Abide by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.
We only accept candidates with a UK active PIN and at least one year of experience in a nursing home in the UK.
Main Requirements for this role- Must be a registered nurse (current PIN number with NMC).
- Genuine desire to work with the elderly.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, along with excellent listening skills.
- Ability to supervise other staff members comfortably and competently.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Calm nature able to defuse challenging situations.
- Knowledgeable about assessment, admission and discharge processes.
- Knowledgeable of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and committed to working within its codes of practice.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high‑stress situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
