William Smith 1832 is creating a new and pivotal role for a PPF Products & Sales Lead
, responsible for driving the growth, credibility, and commercial success of our Paint Protection Film (PPF) offering across the UK.

This is a specialist position designed for a seasoned PPF expert with strong industry knowledge, established customer connections, and the ability to deliver results. The successful candidate will take ownership of shaping our PPF product and service proposition, supporting customers with expert technical guidance, and accelerating market traction through a combination of training, engagement, and sales leadership.

The role will be supported by William Smith’s wider internal and external sales teams, but the postholder will be the business’s go-to authority for PPF – leading from the front, driving momentum, and building a scalable platform for long‑term growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. PPF Commercial Growth & Market Development
    • Lead the commercial development of William Smith 1832’s PPF offering across the UK.
    • Identify, target, and convert high‑potential PPF customers, installers, and partners.
    • Build strong pipeline activity and generate swift traction in the market through direct engagement and industry networking.
    • Represent William Smith 1832 professionally at industry events, customer meetings, and strategic partner discussions.
    • Establish credibility and market presence as a trusted PPF specialist.
    • Shape and develop the PPF product proposition, including:
      • product selection and grades
      • performance positioning
      • installer suitability and applications
    • Provide insight and recommendations on product range development based on market needs and competitor activity.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Marketing, Operations) to ensure the offering is commercially and operationally aligned.
  • 3. Technical Expertise & Customer Support
    • Provide expert technical advice to customers on PPF applications, grades, and best practice.
    • Support customers in selecting the right PPF solutions for their business model and end‑user needs.
    • Be confident working with industry‑standard PPF software, pattern systems, and associated tools.
    • Act as the escalation point for technical queries, challenges, and complex customer requirements.
  • 4. Training & Capability Building
    • Deliver structured training and support to:
      • customers and installers across the UK
      • internal sales teams (inside and field)
      • wider business stakeholders where required
    • Working with Marketing to build and deliver training materials, guides, and product knowledge resources.
    • Support the UK sales team with coaching, joint customer calls, and opportunity conversion.
  • 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with the UK internal and external sales teams to build PPF momentum and consistent messaging.
    • Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, promotions, and go‑to‑market activity.
    • Support Procurement with market insight, product roadmap input, and supplier engagement where required.
    • Ensure feedback loops exist between customer needs and internal business planning.
  • Required Experience & Skills
    • Proven experience in the PPF (Paint Protection Film) industry in a commercial, technical, or sales‑led role.
    • Deep understanding of PPF products, grades, and applications.
    • Strong industry connections and credibility with customers and installers.
    • Experience using or working alongside PPF software / pattern systems and industry tools.
    • Demonstrable sales pedigree with the ability to win business and grow market share.
    • Confident delivering training, product demonstrations, and customer presentations.
    • Proactive, energetic, and self‑driven – able to build traction quickly.
    • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
    • Willingness to travel nationally across the UK.
    • Experience in adjacent film‑based product categories.
    • Experience developing product propositions or shaping go‑to‑market strategy.
    • Knowledge of related sectors such as automotive aftermarket, detailing, wrap, tint, or specialist installation markets.
