Federal Work Study Student Assistant – Boys and Girls Club (Fall 2025/Spring 2026)

Location: Gordon State College, Barnesville, GA
Job Type: Temporary, Part‑Time (up to 15 hours per week)
Pay: $11.00 per hour
This position supports the daily operations of the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Georgia. The role is off‑campus and focuses on membership management, front‑desk support, financial responsibilities, and general clerical duties.
Responsibilities- Maintain and update club member database; process applications, collect fees, and issue membership cards.
- Assist members with membership card usage, scanning, and alternate sign‑in procedures.
- Track attendance, record roster data, and produce associated reports.
- Manage phone and public‑address system usage.
- Organize and host registration sign‑ups and renewals.
- Provide customer‑service at the welcome desk; greet members, parents, staff, and visitors.
- Monitor visitor access and sign‑in procedures.
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls; take messages and forward to voicemail when needed.
- Act as a role model for club members.
- Collect membership, field‑trip, program, and special‑event fees; safeguard financial logs.
- Track payment plans and follow up until full payment or alert supervisor.
- Distribute flyers and informational materials to parents and visitors.
- Sort, route mail, publications, and maintain filing system.
- Keep work area neat, orderly, and supplies stocked.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and additional duties as directed.
- Assist with clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, and collating.
- Serve as assistant to the Club Director when needed.
- Experiment in training and educational opportunities to broaden knowledge.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Valid State driver’s license.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development and behavior management.
- Ability to motivate youth and handle general public interactions.
- Ability to plan and implement quality youth programs.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
