Job SummaryGordon State College is recruiting for part‑time faculty to teach courses in various disciplines, including Psychology, Human Services, Sociology, Social Work, and Political Science.
Responsibilities- Teaching
:
Deliver high‑quality instruction and foster student engagement. - Curriculum Development
:
Contribute to course material review and alignment with industry trends. - Student Support
:
Provide timely feedback, hold office hours, and offer academic guidance. - Assessment and Grading
:
Evaluate student performance through assignments and tests as defined by the syllabus. - Collaboration
:
Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with faculty to improve instructional quality. - Professional Development
:
Stay current with research and teaching methods to continuously improve effectiveness. - Administrative Responsibilities
:
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and documentation.
- Master's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science or related field, with 18 or more semester credit hours in that discipline.
- Two (2) years teaching experience in higher education.
- Doctorate degree (PhD, DBA) in teaching discipline.
- Three (3) – Five (5) years of professional experience in a Human Services related field, preferably in the industry relevant to the courses being taught.

- Knowledge of computers and job‑related software programs. Advanced user of MS Office applications, such as Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Experience user of Zoom to set up meetings/sessions with students.
- Experience using Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace D2L, etc.
