Founded in 1852, GSC is a member of the University System of Georgia. The college has a distinctive legacy of excellent scholarship and service. GSC offers nearly 30 degrees, which includes multiple associate and baccalaureate pathways for students. Job Summary

Gordon State College is recruiting for part‑time faculty to teach courses in various disciplines, including Psychology, Human Services, Sociology, Social Work, and Political Science.

Responsibilities

• Teaching
  :
  Deliver high‑quality instruction and foster student engagement.
• Curriculum Development
  :
  Contribute to course material review and alignment with industry trends.
• Student Support
  :
  Provide timely feedback, hold office hours, and offer academic guidance.
• Assessment and Grading
  :
  Evaluate student performance through assignments and tests as defined by the syllabus.
• Collaboration
  :
  Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with faculty to improve instructional quality.
• Professional Development
  :
  Stay current with research and teaching methods to continuously improve effectiveness.
• Administrative Responsibilities
  :
  Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science or related field, with 18 or more semester credit hours in that discipline.
• Two (2) years teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree (PhD, DBA) in teaching discipline.
• Three (3) – Five (5) years of professional experience in a Human Services related field, preferably in the industry relevant to the courses being taught.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of computers and job‑related software programs. Advanced user of MS Office applications, such as Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Experience user of Zoom to set up meetings/sessions with students.
• Experience using Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace D2L, etc.
