Working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, you'll play a key role in ensuring clients receive an efficient, accurate, and proactive bookkeeping service. Based in Edgware
, you'll collaborate with experienced accountants and advisors while benefiting from ongoing professional development and genuine career progression.
As a Bookkeeper
, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day financial records for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring all bookkeeping is completed accurately and on time. This is a hands-on position offering plenty of variety within the accountancy sector.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a range of clients.
- Process sales and purchase invoices.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process journals, accruals and prepayments where required.
- Assist with month-end procedures and management reporting.
- Liaise directly with clients, providing support on bookkeeping queries.
- Work with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, Quick Books and Sage.
- Support the wider accounts team with additional finance-related tasks as required.
We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and enjoys working with clients. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping position within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Experience preparing VAT returns.
- Good working knowledge of Xero, Quick Books or Sage.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with a professional and friendly approach.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- AAT qualification or study towards AAT would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Salary of £32,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
