Estimator; Roofing

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in roofing to join a growing Commercial Team based in Barnet. Roofing is a core part of our service offering and a key differentiator in our market presence. Our client specialises in planned maintenance works and social housing.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for pricing both traditional tenders and measured term/schedule of rates contracts. Experience in both areas is ideal; however, training will be provided for candidates less familiar with measured term frameworks.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the team, including the Managing Director. As such, we value candidates who are collaborative, technically strong, and commercially minded.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing and wider construction projects
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive pricing strategies
• Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings, and post-tender reviews as required
• Support the wider commercial team as needed

• Proven estimating experience with a strong focus on roofing
• Solid understanding of both traditional and schedule of rates tendering (or willingness to learn)
• Attention to detail and accuracy in pricing
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in estimating software and Excel

The role will be office based and not a hybrid role.

Standard holidays and 5% pension. Holidays will not be used for Christmas shutdown; this is paid by our client.
