SEN Teaching Assistant N13
RoleTeaching Personnel are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work within inclusive and well established schools located in the N13 area of North London. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting children with special educational needs and who are seeking a role within a professional and supportive educational environment. Positions are available on a full time and part time basis, with a daily pay rate of £90 to £105 depending on experience, paid weekly.

The schools offer structured, nurturing and inclusive settings where staff work collaboratively to support both pupil development and staff wellbeing. SEN provision is a key priority, and teaching assistants are valued members of the wider school team, working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate and consistent support.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH, ADHD and communication difficulties. Support may be provided on a one‑to‑one basis or within small groups, both in and out of the classroom. You will assist pupils in accessing learning, developing social and communication skills, regulating behaviour and building confidence, while contributing to the implementation of personalised learning strategies and positive behaviour approaches.
Qualifications& Experience
Applicants should have a calm, patient and professional approach, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team. Some prior experience supporting children is required, whether in schools, SEN settings, youth work, mentoring, coaching or similar roles. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold a Child Only DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.
Successful candidates will also be required to provide satisfactory references covering the last three years of employment.
Teaching Personnel offer competitive rates of pay, weekly pay, access to free professional development and training, free ongoing DBS checks subject to a minimum work period, and support from a dedicated consultant who provides a professional and efficient service throughout the placement.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
