Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates may be offered to candidates with relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualifications. Pay is in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR).

About the Role

An inclusive and community-focused primary school in Barnet is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children and helping them build strong foundations for learning.

The school has a warm, welcoming ethos where pupils are happy, confident and supported to achieve their best. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to support children aged 3–5, delivering engaging play-based learning in a stimulating and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children aged 3–5 across the EYFS curriculum

• Assisting with play-based learning activities indoors and outdoors

• Building positive relationships to support pupils’ confidence and wellbeing

• Providing 1:1 and small group support, including for pupils with SEND

• Encouraging positive behaviour, routines and engagement with learning

• Supporting observations and recording of pupils’ progress

• Working collaboratively with staff and parents to support each child

Requirements

To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have:

• Experience working in an Early Years setting (nursery, preschool or Reception)

• A good understanding of EYFS principles and play-based learning

• The ability to support whole-class, small group and 1:1 learning

• A caring, patient and proactive approach

Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

• The right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning

• Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs
