Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

A welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Barnet is on the lookout for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with autism and ADHD on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time role starting in September, with a long-term placement in a supportive setting.

What the role involves:

1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with autism and ADHD
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning
Using structure, patience and creativity to build engagement
Helping the pupil regulate, access the curriculum and build confidence
Being a key part of a caring, experienced team
What they’re looking for:

Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD (school-based preferred)
A nurturing approach and clear communication style
Ability to stay calm, consistent, and proactive
Someone who truly ‘gets it’ when it comes to behaviour, sensory needs and trust-building

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
