Assistant SENDCo – Inclusive Primary School – Barnet

An inclusive primary school in Barnet is seeking an Assistant SENDCo to support the SENDCo in managing the provision for students with special educational needs (SEN). This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with SEN experience looking to step into a leadership role within a supportive and vibrant school environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the SENDCo in managing and developing the school’s SEN provision.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure effective monitoring of student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide tailored support for students with SEN.
  • Help lead training sessions and workshops for staff on SEN best practices and strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of SEN interventions and suggest improvements as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A background in teaching or support roles, with a genuine passion for SEN education.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A clear DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
