The Opportunity

Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Barnet area from September 2026.

The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication needs, and associated developmental challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified teacher with experience in Primary and/or Specialist SEN settings who is passionate about delivering personalised learning and helping pupils achieve their full potential.

You will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to providing a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

Your

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex SEN needs
  • Support pupils in achieving EHCP targets through personalised learning programmes
  • Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of communication, sensory, and learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and families
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring positive educational and developmental outcomes
  • Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing through inclusive practice
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching within a Primary School or Specialist SEN setting
  • Strong understanding of complex needs, including ASD, SLD, and communication difficulties
  • Experience delivering highly differentiated lessons and personalised learning plans
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
