About the Role:

A leading further education college in North London seeks a Plumbing Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Levels 1-3. You will shape curriculum content, support diverse learners to achieve industry-ready skills, and contribute to a collaborative department committed to continuous improvement and strong learner outcomes. This role suits a vocational educator who enjoys blending practical workshop delivery with theory, embedding health and safety and employability throughout.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons and workshops across Plumbing qualifications at Levels 1-3, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
• Teach core topics such as pipework fabrication, installation, sanitation, central heating principles, and environmental sustainability.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support learner progress and achievement while maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Track and monitor learner attendance, progress, and achievement, implementing interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, quality assurance, and employer engagement to ensure relevance and innovation.

• Recognized teaching qualification or commitment to achieve one (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training).
• Level 3 (or higher) Plumbing qualification or equivalent industry certification.
• Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA/A1) desirable.
• Internal quality assurance qualification (IQA) advantageous.
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent as a minimum.
• Higher-level technical qualifications in Plumbing/Heating, Gas, or Renewable Technologies considered an asset.

• Proven industry experience in domestic and/or commercial plumbing installation and maintenance.
• Experience teaching or training in FE, work-based learning, or employer settings preferred.
• Confident delivery of practical workshop sessions and theory classes to mixed-ability groups.
• Familiarity with vocational awarding body requirements and assessment practices.
