Nursery Teaching Assistant (1:1 Autism Support) | Barnet, North London | September 2026 Start
Location:
Barnet, London Salary: £90–£100 per day
Contract:
Full-Time, Permanent.
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a nursery pupil with ASD.
- Support the child's learning, communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Implement strategies to manage transitions and changes in routine.
- Use positive behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques when required.
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to support the child's development.
- Create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Experience working with nursery‑aged or Early Years children.
- Strong understanding of autism, sensory needs, and communication differences.
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Full‑time, long‑term opportunity with a permanent contract.
