Nursery Teaching Assistant (1:1 Autism Support) | Barnet, North London | September 2026 Start

Barnet, London Salary: £90–£100 per day

Contract:

Full-Time, Permanent.

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a nursery pupil with ASD.
• Support the child's learning, communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Implement strategies to manage transitions and changes in routine.
• Use positive behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques when required.
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to support the child's development.
• Create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Experience working with nursery‑aged or Early Years children.
• Strong understanding of autism, sensory needs, and communication differences.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
• Excellent behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
