Step into teaching have an amazing opportunity for graduates who are passionate and enthusiastic about science to work as a science teaching assistant. The graduate will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a school before embarking into teacher training.
The opportunity- Based in Barnet
- Full‑time role (Monday to Friday)
- £565‑£575 weekly (Term time only)
- September 2026 start
- Hold a science degree (2:2 or above)
- Have a passion for science
- Have a strong knowledge of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSE curriculum
- Have a DBS on the update service (preferred not essential)
- Have high expectations when teaching students and help them reach their full potential
- Be creative and enthusiastic
- Be able to keep students engaged and motivated
- Have great communication skills
As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will be working within the Science department supporting students during lessons. Your role as a Science Teaching Assistant will include providing classroom support alongside the classroom teacher, creating resources for students to use during the lesson, leading small groups and 1:1 outside the classroom (high achievers and low ability), help plan science lessons for the week, mark students work and provide feedback when necessary.
