Admissions Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded independent specialist school in North London for an experienced Admissions Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, professional and customer-focused individual to take ownership of the admissions process within a supportive and collaborative school environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring prospective families receive an outstanding experience while coordinating admissions from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

The Role

As Admissions Manager, you will oversee the school's admissions process, working closely with senior leaders, parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals. You will ensure every stage of the admissions journey is managed efficiently, professionally and in line with school policies and statutory requirements.

This position would suit someone with previous admissions experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building positive relationships with families and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the admissions process from initial enquiry through to pupil enrolment.
  • Act as the first point of contact for prospective parents, carers, local authorities and referring professionals.
  • Coordinate school tours, assessments, consultations and admissions meetings.
  • Liaise with education, therapy and safeguarding teams throughout the admissions process.
  • Prepare admissions documentation, contracts and offer letters.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and admissions databases, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Monitor admissions enquiries and provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and commissioning teams.
  • Support open days, school events and marketing activities to promote the school.

    Ensure admissions procedures are followed accurately and consistently.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in school admissions role.
  • Understanding of SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience dealing confidently with parents, external agencies and professionals.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school management systems (SIMS experience is desirable).
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A professional, approachable and customer-focused manner.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR within an educational setting.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience with in an independent or specialist school.
  • Experience working alongside local authorities and external professionals.
