This Pastoral Support Officer role is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised Pastoral Support Officer to begin their journey in a supportive secondary school.

As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with staff and students, making the position ideal for someone passionate about student wellbeing. The Pastoral Support Officer role runs for the full academic year, starting September 2026.

• Full-time, long-term role starting September 2026
• September 2026 – July 2027 (full academic year)
• £513-£580 per week (PAYE)
• Excellent experience for aspiring teachers, psychologists or youth workers

• Provide 1:1 and small-group pastoral support
• Support behaviour, attendance and student wellbeing
• Build positive relationships with students
• Work with Heads of Year and senior leaders
• Liaise with parents, staff and external agencies
• Help students overcome barriers to learning
• Act as a consistent and approachable Pastoral Support Officer

• 2:1 or First-Class degree from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university (preferred)
• Strong A-Level and GCSE results (desirable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organised, proactive and resilient
• Confident building relationships with young people
• Passionate about supporting students as a Pastoral Support Officer
