2. This varied role is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys building meaningful relationships and helping children achieve their individual potential.

The Role

Your day will be split between two rewarding responsibilities:

Morning – Year 2 (1:1 Support)

You will provide dedicated support for a pupil with complex communication and learning needs who follows an individualised curriculum. Success in this role comes from building trust, understanding routines and delivering engaging, personalised learning through short, focused activities alongside movement breaks and creative learning opportunities.

Afternoon – Year 6

Youll support two pupils with EHCPs who are largely independent but benefit from emotional regulation and behavioural support, particularly after lunchtime. When pupils are settled, youll also work alongside the class teacher, providing wider classroom support and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality 1:1 SEN support tailored to individual learning needs.

• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD and communication needs.

• Encourage engagement through personalised and interest-led learning activities.

• Promote emotional regulation using calm, positive and nurturing strategies.

• Assist with personalised learning programmes and classroom activities.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.

• Foster pupils confidence, independence and wellbeing.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.

• Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, communication needs or EHCPs.

• A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Confidence supporting pupils with emotional regulation and personalised learning.

• A flexible attitude and ability to adapt between 1:1 and classroom-based support.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

What Youll Receive

• Competitive daily pay of £90–£100.

• A supportive and experienced leadership team committed to staff development.

• Full handover and guidance to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

• The opportunity to make a lasting difference to childrens educational progress and wellbeing.

• Ongoing support from a dedicated Teach Now consultant.

• Access to professional development opportunities and future long-term roles.

If youre an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant ready to support pupils with additional needs and help them thrive both academically and emotionally, wed love to hear from you.
