Teach Plus are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mill Hill.
This full-time SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will play an important role in helping the child access learning, manage their emotions and develop their confidence and independence within the classroom environment.

Inclusion and pupil wellbeing are central to the school's approach, with staff working closely together to provide appropriate support for children with a range of additional needs.
This SEN Teaching Assistant position would suit someone who has previous experience supporting children with ASD, PDA or similar additional needs.

- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ASD and PDA
- Support the pupil with accessing classroom learning and engaging with activities
- Implement appropriate strategies to reduce anxiety and support emotional regulation
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent support
- Monitor the pupil's progress and adapt support strategies according to their individual needs
- Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
