Teach Now is seeking a Year 4 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Barnet, with established planning, additional classroom staff and leadership support already in place.
You will teach pupils aged eight to nine across the Year 4 curriculum, using existing resources and routines as a strong starting point while bringing your own ideas to lessons. The class includes pupils with varied learning needs, and you will work closely with Teaching Assistants, small-group provision and an experienced SENCO to support inclusive learning.
The school offers planning guidance from the leadership team, additional PPA time and a manageable marking approach that prioritises live feedback. This allows you to focus on high-quality teaching, pupil progress and building positive classroom relationships.
This role would suit a calm, organised Key Stage 2 teacher who combines clear expectations with engaging teaching and enjoys working collaboratively with support staff and school leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and teach engaging lessons across the Year 4 curriculum.
- Establish clear routines and maintain firm, fair expectations.
- Adapt teaching to support pupils with a range of learning needs.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and colleagues to coordinate classroom support.
- Assess learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
- Encourage confidence, independence and consistent progress.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised in England.
- Previous Key Stage 2 teaching experience, ideally in Year 4.
- Experience planning, teaching and assessing across the primary curriculum.
- Confidence supporting pupils with varied learning needs.
- Strong classroom management and a collaborative approach.
- The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS and other safeguarding checks.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting childrens welfare.
- Pay in line with the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), meaning equal pay to a permanent employee.
Teach Now operates stringent safer recruitment procedures. We are committed to promoting equality, challenging discrimination and safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults, and expect the same commitment from all staff and volunteers. This post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
