We are seeking a proactive, motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our fast paced and patient-focused ultrasound department, spanning across our multiple hospital sites of Barnet General, Chase Farm Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital and Hadley Wood Hospital.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering a high-quality diagnostic ultrasound service across a wide range of clinical specialties. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting sonographers and clinical staff, ensuring the smooth running of daily clinics while providing a safe, respectful, and patient-centred experience. You will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds, often at key moments in their care pathway, making professionalism, empathy, and effective communication essential to this role.

Main duties of the job
  • Support sonographers and clinical staff during ultrasound examinations.

Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times.

Assist with patient movement, positioning, and infection prevention and control procedures.

  • Chaperone a range of intimate ultrasound examinations, providing important safeguards for clinicians whilst simultaneously being aware of and advocating for the patient's comfort, well-being and choice wherever necessary.

Maintain clinical areas, ensuring equipment and rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use.

Undertake administrative tasks including patient flow, documentation, and appointment support and audit.

Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the wider healthcare team.

Adhere to Trust policies, safeguarding procedures, information governance, and health & safety regulations.
