Housekeeping Assistant

A Housekeeping Assistant post in Jewish Care's Hospitality team at the Betty and Asher Loftus Centre, covering the campus and care homes. The work centres on keeping residential and communal areas clean, hygienic and welcoming, with laundry support, infection control and help at events and festivals. The post is 35 hours over five days a week, including every other weekend, with starts from 6.30am, and involves supporting vulnerable people.

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is required, while COSHH and infection control training is desirable.

• Deliver housekeeping to a high standard across Jewish Care sites, maintaining cleanliness
• Follow infection control procedures
• Ensure safe and hygienic working practices
• Provide laundry support, including distribution, washing, ironing and preparation
• Support the wider hospitality teams with events and festivals
• Inspect, monitor, record and report products, appliances and consumables needed
• Dispose of general, clinical and recycling waste in line with the Waste Disposal Policy
• Report hazards and maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor

• Previous housekeeping experience, working independently and as part of a team
• Cleaning experience in a similar environment

• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Good attention to detail
• Sensitivity and understanding when supporting vulnerable people

• COSHH training and a current accredited infection control certificate, or willingness to be trained
