Job overview

We are looking for a compassionate, skilled and motivated Interim Senior Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse who is ready for progression and the next stage in their career, passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to patients with complex palliative and end‑of‑life care needs, while supporting families and carers with empathy, dignity and professionalism.

Main

duties of the job
  • Provide high‑quality nursing care for patients with complex palliative and end‑of‑life care needs.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in partnership with patients, families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Support symptom management, comfort, dignity and individualised care planning.
  • Act as a clinical role model and support junior staff, students and support workers within the ward team.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, therapy, psychosocial and community colleagues to ensure coordinated care.
  • Contribute to the IPU Quality Improvement plan, audits, teaching and the ongoing development of palliative care practice.
  • Promote clear, sensitive communication with patients, relatives and carers during emotionally significant times.
