We are seeking a knowledgeable, confident Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Wood Street Vet Hospital on a full-time basis.
Wood Street Veterinary Hospital is a busy, 24-hour RCVS-accredited Tier 3 hospital, providing an exceptional standard of patient care across a varied and interesting caseload. Our recently refurbished facilities include modern operating theatres, laparoscopy and endoscopy, digital and dental X-ray, an in-house laboratory, dedicated isolation facilities, and separate cat and dog wards. The hospital sees a diverse range of cases, from emergency and critical care through to orthopaedic and advanced surgical procedures, and holds both ISFM Cat Friendly and Rabbit Friendly accreditation.
You’ll join a collaborative and experienced team of 14 vets, 10 RVNs, 4 SVNs and 4 VCSs, all sharing a commitment to high clinical standards and a genuine passion for delivering excellent patient care.
As a Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse, you will provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team, overseeing all nursing aspects of the practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient and client care.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN who is ready to take the next step into leadership, or an experienced senior nurse looking for a new challenge within a busy hospital environment.

This is very much a hands‑on role, combining leadership responsibilities with clinical nursing and allowing you to continue using and developing your nursing skills.
